Rhode Island no longer exempt from Massachusetts’ travel restrictions due to COVID-19 positive test rate

We're sorry to say our lives just got more complicated. Gov. Baker just removed Rhode Island from our list of Safe 8 States, so now we are down to safe 7. Arriving guests from Rhode Island will need to follow the same MA State Protocol as the other states outside of our region.
Travelers from Rhode Island entering the Bay State will have to start quarantining for two weeks due to an increasing COVID-19 positive test rate, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Effective August 1, 2020, all travelers to Massachusetts must comply with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Travel Order.
The travel new order requires all visitors and returning residents to complete a Massachusetts Traveler Form unless they are coming from a state that has been designated a lower risk COVID-19 state or fall into an exemption category.
The new travel order also provides that visitors and returning residents arriving in Massachusetts from any other place other than a COVID-19 lower-risk state must quarantine for 14-days unless they can produce a negative COVID-19 test result administered on a sample taken not more than 72-hours prior to arriving in Massachusetts
The current list of lower risk states that are exempt from this travel order are as follows: Connecticut. Hawaii, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.

Due to the COVID-19, Housekeeping services will only be available daily from 9am until 3pm, and only upon request to the front desk between 8am and 9am.
If you wish for your room to be cleaned by our housekeeping on ANY or EVERYDAY during your stay with us, please dial “0” to speak to the Front Desk EACH morning during your stay after 8am and before 9am that day to request housekeeping service and give us the specific time when you know that you will NOT be in your room or your patio outside your room.
We are unable to offer housekeeping services if any guests are in the room or outside on their patio.
If we do not hear from you at the front desk between 8am and 9am on any day during your stay to let us know what time you will be out of your room, we will not schedule your room to be cleaned that day. Unfortunately, there can be no exceptions to this procedure, as it is vitally important that your room be empty during a housekeeping visit.
Towels and extra sheets will be available upon request by dialing “0” during Lobby hours daily (8am - 8pm), if you do not notify us that you need housekeeping services on any given day during your stay.

We know that it is a very difficult time for so many people, and we wanted you to know that our number one priority is that everyone be safe and healthy.
The island of Nantucket is under strict and cautious rules to make sure that all individuals and families currently on the island remain as healthy and safe as possible. The Beachside Hotel will continue to adhere to the rules and regulations in place, and we will update everyone as we know more.
We will monitor the situation and keep you up to date. While we always have strict protocols for cleaning, we will be taking extra steps to disinfect all rooms, common areas and surfaces throughout the hotel on a constant basis.
There are several island events and festivals that have been canceled.
Please be assured that if a reservation has to be canceled due to the restrictions in place, we will absolutely accommodate our guests with a booking for a future date.
